Jay library to hold school bus program

The annual school bus program will be held Aug. 4, for children in the Jay School Corporation who are ready to enter kindergarten and will be riding a bus to school.

Children will leave the library at 10 a.m. to ride a bus to an area school, where they will visit a classroom, listen to stories and play on the playground.

Clubs meeting at JCPL include Hook & Needles Club from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on July 25. Bring supplies, ideas to share or items to brag on. 

Writers Guild will meet at 6:30 p.m. on July 31.  



Paint class

An acrylic painting class will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 12, at Arts Place, Blackford County Center.

Artist Susie Burns will guide participants to complete a painting by the end of the evening. 

There will be light refreshments and wine and the cost is $25.

Dean’s list

Casey Shannon, Bryant, was named to the spring dean’s list at the University of Findlay (Ohio). 

To make the dean’s list, students must attain a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

The Fort Recovery Historical Society & Project Recovery will hold its annual One-of-a-Kind Auction on Sunday, Oct. 15 with the theme “Venetian Venture.”
