GREENVILLE, Ohio — The Fort Recovery Eels swim team finished fourth at the Darke County Invitational on Saturday.
Seven squads competed, but team scores were not provided.
Sage Wendel (11-12-year-old boys), Ava Bubp (13-14-year-old girls) and Cassy Martin (15-and-older girls) each returned as high-point winners.
Martin earned victories in the 200-yard freestyle, 50 freestyle, 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke. In the same division, Alexis Bubp claimed the top spot in the 50 butterfly, 100 freestyle and 100 individual medley.
Ava Bubp was first in the 50 butterfly and 100 freestyle, while Paige Forkamp earned the top spot in the 50 freestyle and 50 backstroke.
Wendel won the 25 butterfly, 25 backstroke and 50 freestyle events.
Fortkamp, Martin and the Bubp sisters combined to win the 15-and-over 200 medley and freestyle relays.
Printing wins
Graphic Printing roughed up Jay County Monuments to the tune of a 17-2 victory on Saturday in Major softball action of Portland Junior League.
Gwen Butcher blasted a grand slam to lead Graphic, which got three hits and a trio of RBIs from Katelyn Harris.
Shelby Hiestand also collected three hits with two RBIs, while Natalie Miles hit a double, a single and drove in three runs.
Haleigh Clayton chipped in two hits and three RBIs.
Kearsten Myers was 2-for-2 with an inside-the-park home run, accounting for both of Jay County Monument’s runs. Kaya Champ and Breanna Randall also had hits for Monument.
