Biofuels industry backs Senate bill
Business Roundup
POET, the parent company of POET Biorefining-Portland, has joined about 25 other biofuel organizations to support passage of the Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act (Senate Bill 517).
The biofuel industry says the bill would lift outdated restrictions that limit access and provide more incentives for innovation and investment in clean fuel technologies.
“We ask you to stand with advanced biofuels and with clean energy to enable us to further reduce harmful emissions,” the organizations said in a letter to the 21 members of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.
“This is about giving Americans the freedom to choose fuels that can actually help clean the toxic air we breathe,” POET chief executive officer Jeff Broin said in a prepared statement.

Museum opens
A museum dedicated to the history of Coca-Cola has opened in Corinth, Mississippi.

Corinth’s relationship with Coke dates back to 1905.
