Regional art exhibit set for March 17
Taking Note
A Regional Student Art Exhibit is set to begin on March 17, with an opening reception from 4 to 6 p.m. at Arts Place in Portland.
The exhibit “Art is a Poem without Words” will continue through April 14.
Arts Place is located at 131 E. Walnut St.

Oratorical winners
The Jay County Oratorical Contest, sponsored by Portland Breakfast Optimists, Portland Evening Optimists and West Jay Optimists, was held Tuesday.
Winners for the girls were Pacie Denney, Adriane Hodge and Aubrey Millspaugh
Alternates were Cecelia Gruss adn Rosie Eicher.
Winners for the boys were Ryne Goldsworthy, Gabe Pinkerton and Derek Penner. The alternate was Eric Timmerman.
