Fort residents give to local organizations

Members of the Fort Recovery community recently gave charitable donations to the following organizations during the annual drive.
Fort Recovery Boy Scouts - $753; Fort Recovery Historical Society - $1,030; Fort Recovery Friends of the Library - $1,260; Project Recovery - $710; Fort Recovery 4-H Club - $688; Fort Recovery Ministerial Association - $705; Fort Recovery Academic Boosters - $860; Fort Recovery Girl Scouts - $603; Fort Recovery Community Foundation - $1,200, plus $100 for the MP53 Fund and $25 for the Military Park; Center for Neurological Development - $2,485; Cancer Association of Mercer County - $1,545; American Red Cross-Mercer County - $924; Mercer County Right to Life - $1,480; State of the Heart Home Health & Hospice - $1,860; Our Home Family Resource Center - $455; Big Brothers/Big Sisters - $453.
NCGLNAC classes
The deadline to register for traditional cultural arts classes at the 16th Annual Spring Great Lakes Native American Cultural event in Portland is March 25.
Classes will be taught April 1 and 2 at the Women’s Building at Jay County Fairgrounds.

The Jay County Historical Society recently received two grants from The Portland Foundation.
One for $824 will be used to purchase three canopies and the other for $3,532 will be used for new windows and a door for the Gilpin Annex.
