FR’s LeFevre wins two titles
Tribe sophomore takes first in 100- and 200-meter dash races at MAC championships
NEW BREMEN, Ohio — For the second consecutive season, Robby LeFevre is the fastest sprinter in the conference.
LeFevre, a Fort Recovery High School sophomore, repeated as champion in the 100-meter dash and added a 200 title in the Midwest Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships on Friday.
Versailles won the boys team title with 191 points. St. Henry totaled 94 for second, and Minster scored 74 for third. Fort Recovery totaled 43 points for seventh.
Minster’s girls won with 144.5 points, ahead of Versailles (116) and the host Cardinals (111). Fort Recovery scored 21 points for ninth.
LeFevre, a three-time state qualifier as a freshman, repeated as champion in the 100 dash with a time of 11.76 seconds. He beat the field in the 200 in 23.11 seconds to earn a pair of MAC championships.
He joined Riley Pearson, Jacob Acheson and Brayden Schoen to finish third in the 4x100 relay in 45.78 seconds. Jared Timmerman, Pearson, Acheson and LeFevre were fourth in the 4x400 relay in 3:40.02.
Travis Sutter earned a pair of top-eight finishes. He was runner up in the 1,600 run in 4 minutes, 35.82 seconds. He placed sixth in the 3,200 run in 10:42.84.
Timmerman added an eighth-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 5.75 inches.
For the girls, Chloe Will scored points in two events. The sophomore was fourth in both the 1,600 and 3,200, with times of 5:34.7 and 12:18.47 respectively.
Kristen Keller was seventh in shot put with a distance of 32 feet, 2.5 inches.
Lauren Gehle, Angela Heitkamp, Audrey Guggenbiller and Piage Hemmert teamed to place fifth in the 4x100 relay in 54.45 seconds. Gehle, Hemmert and Guggenbiller then also joined Hannah Heitkamp to finish with a time of 1:57.93 for sixth in the 4x200 relay.
Angela Heitkamp, Hannah Heitkamp, Hemmert and Guggenbiller were seventh in the 4x400 relay in 4:32.9.
