John Jay series goes on
The spring speaker series continues at John Jay Center for Learning from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on May 30.
The topic will be “Toxic Charity: How Churches &?Charities Hurt Those They Help (And How to Reverse It)” by author Robert D. Lupton.
Graduates
Danielle Bruns, the granddaughter of former Portland residents Charles and Lynda Bruns, recently graduated from Texas A & M Corpus Christi magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.
Alexandra Ontrop, Fort Recovery, graduated from The Ohio State University Lima Campus with a bachelor of science degree.
Earns badges
Zach Teeple, a senior at South Adams High School, was recently awarded 27 merit badges at Boy Scout Troop 149’s Court of Honor.
He has earned all 137 badges the Boy Scouts offer, with only 21 required to reach the rank of Eagle Scout, which he did when he was 13.
