Tribe runners to compete in finals on Friday
Sophomore Robby LeFevre seeded fifth in 200-meter dash, sixth in 100
TROY, Ohio — Six Indians are one step away from the state finals.
In the OHSAA Division III Troy Regional Track and Field Championship preliminaries Wednesday at Troy High School, four Fort Recovery High School athletes advanced to Friday’s finals.
Two more have yet to compete.
Robby LeFevre, a sophomore who was a state medalist in the 200-meter dash as a freshman, is seeded fifth in the event after Wednesday’s prelims. He had a time of 22.96 seconds. Qua’monte Richard of Purcell Marian is the top seed with a time of 22.76 seconds.
The top four in each event advance to the state finals, which are June 2 and 3 at Ohio State University.
In the 100 dash, LeFevre’s time of 11.63 seconds is sixth. Richard is also the top seed at 11.38 seconds, and Troy Bowers of Twin Valley is the No. 4 seed at 11.5 seconds.
LeFevre joined Riley Pearson, Jared Timmerman and Brayden Schoen in the 4x100 relay. The Tribe quartet finished with a time of 44.96 seconds for the sixth seed. Gamble Montessori is the top seed at 43.85 seconds, while Covington (44.94 seconds) is the fourth seed.
Chloe Will and Travis Sutter will compete in their respective finals Friday. Will, a sophomore, is seeded seventh in the 3,200 run at 11 minutes, 53.13 seconds. Sutter, a senior, is also seventh in the 1,600 run with a time of 4:38.08.
