The Fort Recovery Education Association recently awarded $1,050 in scholarships to Fort Recovery High School seniors.
Receiving scholarships were Emily Bruns, the daughter of Joe and Denise Bruns, Brooke Gower, the daughter of Michael and Holly Gower, and Jeanette Osterloh, the daughter of Mike and Janice Osterloh.
Blood drive
American Red Cross will hold an Indiana Fallen Officer Blood Drive on Tuesday, June 6.
The event is sponsored by Jay County Sheriff Reserves and will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Jay Community Center.

Honoring
The Jay County High School graduating class of 2001 is recognizing class members that have passed away by developing a scholarship to honor them.
Legacy 2001 is set up through The Portland Foundation and donations may be given at the office at 112 E. Main St. in Portland or at www.portlandfoundation.org.
Alumni will also host the 3rd Car Show and Corn Hole Tournament from 7 to 9 p.m. on June 17 in Redkey.

Menausha VanSkyock, Portland, was named to the chancellor’s list for the spring semester at Indiana University East in Richmond, earning a 4.00 grade point average.
Dean’s list
James Bracy, Portland, was named to the spring semester dean's list at Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio.
Kathryn Smeltzer, Portland, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky.
Grant Hull, Fort Recovery, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He is majoring in nursing.
