Fort Recovery High School named its honor roll students for the first quarter.

Seniors named to the all A honor roll were Alexis Bubp, Hannah Evers, Samantha Kahlig, Kristen Keller, Heather Klenke, Claire Metzger, Rachel Moorman and Kyle Timmerman.

Juniors named to the all A honor roll were Riley Ellenberger, Lauren Fullenkamp, Reagan Grieshop, Audrey Guggenbiller, Natalie Homan, Noah Homan, Taylor Huntsman, Kayla Lennartz, Cassidy Martin, Clayton McEldowney, Courtney Metzger, Cassie Poeppelman, Madison Rammel and Chloe Will.

Veteran’s program

South Adams Schools in Berne will host a Veteran’s Day program at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, in the high school gym.

The program will honor Larry L. Boice and will include music, student readings and guest speaker Matthew Vincent, deputy director of the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs.

Refreshments will follow the program in the high school commons.

Veterans wanting to attend may call the middle school office at (260) 589-1102.



Cooking demo

The Arthur &?Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion will host a healthy cooking demo at 1 p.m. Friday for seniors 55 and older.

The focus will be cooking for those with diabetes.

Wellness Pavilion hours will be extended on weekends beginning in December. It will be open until 9 p.m. on Fridays and 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Holiday bazaar

Staff and residents of Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne will sponsore its annual Swiss Village Holiday Bazaar and Book Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. 

Homemade items made by residents will include baskets, honey, metal art, jewelry, ceramics, holiday decor, wreaths, crochet items, soap and hand painted ornaments.

Collective Goods will also have a book fair with proceeds to help Kinder Haus Day Care Library.

Dinner meeting

Jay County Historical Society will have its annual dinner meeting tonight at Asbury United Methodist Church, 204 E. Arch St. in Portland.

Dinner reservations had to be made in advance, but the public is welcome to attend the program which will begin at approximately 7:15 p.m.  

The program will be a video of the 1986 annual meeting.
