Thank you for honoring veterans
Letters to the editor
To the editor:
As a veteran, I would like to publicly thank the Judge Haynes Elementary School staff and students for the wonderful veterans program given to many of our local veterans.
I am grateful that our schools are teaching our students how privileged we are to live in this country.
Yes, we have our problems, but we are truly blessed to have the ability to work those problems out.
I have three grandchildren at Judge Haynes. As I sat in the classrooms, I sat with the sense of security that my grandchildren were in good hands and they were being given the greatest amount of respect as individuals. They not only are being taught math skills, spelling, writing, etc., they are being taught how to be good citizens.
Therespect given as veterans, the songs sang and the presentations were great.
I not only am a veteran, I am also a pastor here in Jay County.
If there ever was a time we need to lift our schools in prayer, it is now. I pray for a wall of protection around our teachers and students. I pray that God will bless our administrators that they will make the best decisions for all here in Jay County.
The fact that we are able to sit down in a free society to iron out our differences is a testament to those who have served to make it possible.
I pray the Lord’s blessing on our veterans and especiallythose military personnel who are serving now.
Thankyou Judges Haynes Elementary School.
