Blood drive
The American Red Cross is asking the community to give thanks for good health by donating blood this holiday season.
They will hold a blood drive from 11 a.m to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Jay Community Center, 115 E. Water St. in Portland.
Donors must be 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health.To make an appointment, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org or call (800) 733-2767.
To save time on the day of the donation, complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online by visiting redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and follow the instructions.
Foster care
Indiana Department of Child Services is in need of homes willing to foster children and provide temporary emergency shelter for up to seven days or respite for up to five days.
