Interruptions
“System connectivity interruptions” were blamed last week for problems at some CVS Pharmacy stores when it came to filling prescriptions.
"Some of our pharmacies are experiencing ... interruptions that we are actively working to resolve. However, our pharmacies can continue filling prescriptions during this period," CVS spokesman Michael DeAngelis told news organizations in an email.

Motherson Sumi Systems, parent company of MSSL Wiring Systems of Portland, saw a 21 percent rise in quarterly profits, The Economic Times reported this week.
Net profit for the three months ending Sept. 30 rose to 4.36 billion rupees from 3.61 billion rupees a year earlier, the website reported.
Net sales outside India rose nearly 36 percent to 115.66 billion rupees. Analysts on average had expected the company to post a profit of 5.04 billion rupees, according to data from Thomson Reuters.

Yum Brands Inc., parent company of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC, reported strong sales in the third-quarter, led by KFC.
Net income from continuing operations nearly doubled to $418 million, or $1.18 per share, helped by the better-than-expected restaurant sales, cost controls and a lower effective tax rate, Reuters reported.
New director
James Teeple has been named the new director of workforce development for Adams County Economic Development Corporation.
Teeple, 59, has more than 12 years experience as an administrator in workforce and professional development, most recently with Ivy Tech.
