Daryll Burkhalter

Daryll was born Aug. 5, 1942, in Adams County, Indiana, the son of Robert and Erma (Carver) Burkhalter. He worked for Berne Ready Mix for 21 years and drove a truck for the State of Indiana for 21 years until his retirement in 2005. He then worked for B&B Farms in Bryant, Indiana. Daryll was a member of the Pony Pullers Association.
Survivors include:
Four sons — Rick Burkhalter, Geneva, Indiana, Kevin Burkhalter (wife: Missy), Decatur, Indiana, Gerald Burkhalter (fiancé: Nova Wendel), Bryant, Indiana, andRobert Burkhalter,Bryant, Indiana
One sister — Rochelle Cook, Geneva, Indiana
One uncle — Paul Carver
Former wife — Edith Burkhalter, Bryant, Indiana
Six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Gene Burkhalter, and a former wife, Roberta Bergman.
Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Earl Doll will officiate, and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant.
Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
