Patricia Wendel

Patricia A. "Pat" Wendel, age 80, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, died Nov. 29, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 27, 1937, in Osgood, Ohio, to the late Leo and Mary Agnes "Minnie" (Henry) Bruns. On Sept. 7, 1957, she married Werner Wendel, who survives.

Also surviving are children Cindy (Gary) Linn of St. Henry, Ohio, Pam (Neil) Darland of Burkettsville, Ohio, Kenny (Lisa) Wendel of Celina, Ohio, Kevin (Bonnie) Wendel of Fort Loramie, Ohio, and Mary (Tony) Evers of St. Henry; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Stephanie Wendel of Pahrump, Nevada; siblings Roberta Hercutt of Inverness, Florida, Barb (Ralph) Homan of Inverness, Florida, Doug (Louise) Bruns of Greenville, Ohio, and Wanda (Marvin) Keiser of New Weston, Ohio; sister-in-law Velma Bruns of Dayton, Ohio; brother-in-law George Muether of Celina; in-laws Millie (Jerome) Wilker of New Bremen, Ohio, Regina Wendel of Coldwater, Thelma Schindler of Bryant, Elmer Wendel of Fort Recovery, Alvin (Martha) Wendel of Fort Recovery and Melvin Wendel of Coldwater. 

Preceding her in death were son Keith Wendel; siblings Annette (Ted) Sanders, Bill (Loraine) Bruns, Paul  Bruns, Louie (Kate) Bruns, Pauline (Herb) Wale, Ruth (Alfred) Holscher, Esther Muether and John Bruns; and brother-in-law, George Hercutt.

She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. Pat treasured her family and friends and the time spent with them. She would light up a room with her fun infectious personality and lived life to the fullest. Her dog, Lady was a loyal friend.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Calling is 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Brockman – Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
