COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Indians will go for their third consecutive sectional title on their home court.
In the OHSAA volleyball state tournament draw held Sunday, Fort Recovery High School, which is ranked sixth in Division IV, earned the No. 3 seed and will host the sectional championship at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 against the winner of a match between the No 5. seed Marion Local Flyers (11-9) and 12th-seeded Wayne Trace Raiders (6-13). The Flyers, who are ninth in the state, host the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16.
The other sectional final in the bottom half of the bracket pits the No. 2 seed and third-ranked St. Henry Redskins (17-3) against either the No. 6 seed New Knoxville Rangers (10-9) or No. 13 seed Jefferson Wildcats (6-13) at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19. The Rangers and Wildcats square off at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in New Knoxville.
The winners of the sectional final meet in the district semifinal at 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Van Wert.
In the top half of the bracket, the top-ranked and No. 1 seed New Bremen Cardinals (19-1) await the winner of the No. 9 Antwerp Archers (16-3) and No. 10 seed Parkway Panthers (8-12).
The Archers host the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16, with the winner traveling to New Bremen at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19.
Fourth-ranked and No. 4 seeded Ottoville Big Green (20-1) hosts No. 11 Lincolnview Lancers (10-10) at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16 in the sectional semifinal. The winner advances to the title match against either the No. 7 seed St. John’s Blue Jays (11-9) or the Convoy Crestview Knights (15-5), who meet at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 16. The winners advance to the sectional final at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19, with the higher seeded team hosting.
The district semifinal for the top half of the bracket is 6:15 p.m. Oct. 24 at Van Wert, with the district final slated for 7 p.m. Oct. 26.
