David Davis
David William Davis, age 67, of Indianapolis and formerly of Anderson, passed away following an extended illness Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at home surrounded by the people he loved most.
David was born to William E. Davis and Rosemary (McClain) Davis, in Portland, Indiana. He grew up and attended high school in Pennville, Indiana. He was a proud graduate of Purdue University and obtained his MBA from Indiana Wesleyan. He retired from the Farm Service Agency after 30 years to further pursue his passion for education, politics and public service. David was a great American.
David is survived by his wife of 39 years Robyn (Truex) Davis and their children Amy and Mark Snodgrass, Eric Davis and Alex Davis, and granddaughters Nora and Maggie Snodgrass; his mother Rosemary Davis and stepmother Helen Davis; Robyn’s parents John and Patty Mitchell and OV and JoAnn Truex; siblings Marilyn Kowalis, Janette Small, Kathy and husband Bernie Crafton; brother-in-law Toby Truex and wife Dawn; beloved nieces and nephews and a host of others David considered family.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the First Church of the Nazarene, located at 2300 Jackson St., Anderson, Indiana, with Pastor Gary Cable officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. with the service immediately following.
Our friends at Harper and Dunnichay Funeral Home of Frankton, Indiana, are handling David’s arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request any donations be made to the Purdue Alumni Club of Madison County for the formation of a memorial scholarship to be established in David’s honor. Envelopes will be provided at the church.
Condolences can be given at dunnichayfuneralhome.com.
