John Crawmer
John W. Crawmer, 80, of rural Redkey, Indiana, passed away at 2:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, while in the company of family members at Miller's Merry Manor, Dunkirk.
John was born in Muncie, Indiana, on May 4, 1937, the son of the late Dorothy M. (Reeder) Crawmer and Lewis E. Crawmer.
He retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class.
John loved to repair diesel engines and fix anything mechanical.
He worked as a diesel mechanic at Ed & Ricks in Hemlock, Indiana, and formerly owned and operated The Diesel Doctor Shop, Redkey, also known as Crawmer's Diesel Repair.
John also loved telling stories and was a former Webelos Leader for Boy Scouts of America.
He was the widower of Shirley (Sullivan) Crawmer.
John is survived by three daughters, Rikee Crawmer Edwards (husband: Mark) of Albany, Indiana; Michele Sanders (husband: Gary) of White Pigeon, Michigan, and Nikki Crawmer of Redkey; and one son, James Crawmer (girlfriend: Mary Eley) of Redkey
Friends are invited to call Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, atMJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel from 1 until 6 p.m.
Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. in MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel.
Burial will follow at the family's convenience.
In lieu offlowers family requests memorials be given to ARF or Adopt a school program at Redkey Faith Church.
