Portland police released more details today about the description of the armed robber who hit Super Wash early Wednesday morning.
The white male, 5 foot, 10 inches, to 6 feet tall, was armed with a long-barrel black automatic handgun. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a blackmask and jeans.
The robber entered the car wash office about 7:30 a.m. and forced employees to open the safe. He escaped on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

City mishap
Damage in a Monday accident at Wayne and Water streets in Portland was estimated at between $1,000 and $2,500.
Brenda J. Gillum, 58, Bryant, told Portland police she was turning from Water Street to Wayne Street about 5:50 p.m. and took the corner too sharply. Her 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck clipped the left front fender of a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by Breanna R. Lothridge, 15, Portland.
Mirrors meet
The rearview mirrors of a pair of pickup trucks were damaged when they struck one another on county road 700 South, east of county road 500 East, about 10:50 a.m. Monday.
Allen W. Mangas, 52, rural Portland, was eastbound in a 2008 Ford F-25 when he encountered a westbound 2017 Chevrolet pickup driven by Christopher A. Hensley, 25, Mayesville, South Carolina.
The collision resulted in less than $1,000 in damage.
