Clara Lucille “Lucy” Beaty, 75, of 200 S. Butler Street Redkey, Indiana, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Friday while in the company of family members at her residence.
Lucy was born in Clarkrange, Tennessee, on June 11, 1942, a daughter of the late Evadean (Smith) and Arnold Miller.
She worked as a Sorter at Indiana Glass Company Dunkirk, Indiana.
Lucy was a member of Local 501 Glass Workers Union and loved gardening, reading, painting, playing cards, crocheting and her church, but mostly spending time with her family on the porch.
She was the widow of John Beaty.
Lucy is survived by two daughters, Alesia Gail, wife of Steve Moore, of Redkey, and Billie, wife of Jack Hammond, of Redkey; two sons, Kalep, husband of Michelle Beaty, of Redkey; John D., husband of Brenda Beaty, of Redkey.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob, husband of Alicha Miller, of Monroe, Tennessee, and Arthur, husband of Francie Miller.
Lucy was preceded in death by her husband John Beaty and sister Betty Phillips.
Friends are invited to call Tuesday at MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. following calling hours in MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel with Pastor Everett Bilbrey Jr. officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries Redkey Chapel.
