Reuters reported this week that Amazon.com Inc may make a rival offer to buy Indian e-commerce firm Flipkart, which is wrapping up a deal with Walmart.
The news service said Amazon held early exploratory talks to buy control of Flipkart but a deal with Walmart is more likely, citing the daily newspaper Mint.
One person familiar with the matter told Reuters that the probability of a deal with Amazon was low.

Tyson Foods Inc. is exploring the sale of its pizza crust business, known as TNT Crust.
“We’re focused on maximizing the full potential of our core business, and this divestiture will help pave the way for growth in our protein brands,” Sally Grimes, Group president, prepared foods, said in a prepared statement. “We believe a potential buyer will see the value of the pizza crust business as a whole, including the TNT Crust brand, the facilities, and the talented team members, and will be able to focus on its future.”
Tyson will retain the tortilla production from the facilities that will be used in other parts of its business.
Tyson Foods is the parent company of Tyson Mexican Original of Portland.
Good quarter
Walgreens Boots Alliance reported quarterly profit and sales figures that beat analysts’ estimates this week.
Walgreens has been focusing on its pharmacy business in the face of declining retail sales. It added more than 20 million members through its partnership with pharmacy benefit managers such as Minnesota-based Prime Therapeutics.
That helped lead to 9.1 percent more prescriptions in the quarter and drive a 5.1 percent rise in pharmacy same-store sales.

Walmart has dumped Cosmopolitan magazine from its checkout aisle, after a long campaign by organizations complaining about Cosmo’s “hyper-sexualized” covers and content.
The retail giant announced the change Tuesday for its 5,000 U.S. stores.
"Walmart will continue to offer Cosmopolitan to customers that wish to purchase the magazine, but it will no longer be in the checkout aisles," the company said in a press release. "While this was primarily a business decision, the concerns raised were heard."
The National Center on Sexual Exploitation has waged a campaign for years to get it removed from store shelves.
"Cosmo sends the same messages about female sexuality as Playboy," NCOSE said in a prepared statement. "It places women's value primarily on their ability to sexually satisfy a man and therefore plays into the same culture where men view and treat women as inanimate sex objects.”
