Wanda Champ

Wanda Lou Champ, 87, of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 5, 2018, while in the company of family members at Albany Health Care, Albany, Indiana.
Wanda was born in Redkey, Indiana, on Oct. 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Velma (Coluson) and Gerald Hatzell. She was the widow of Hoke Champ who she happily married on Nov. 14, 1952, and sadly lost in 1999. Wanda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, camping, fishing and trips to Florida. Wanda was very loving and always made herself available for whatever her family needed whether it be a babysitter or just a listening ear.
She is survived by two sons, Randall Champ, of North Port, Florida, and Kenneth Champ (wife: Linda), of Redkey, Indiana; one brother, David Hatzell, of Redkey, Indiana; four grandchildren, Wesley Champ (wife: Brandi), Michael Champ, Melissa Wasson (husband: Zack) and Trisha Green (husband: Zac); and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, George Hatzell and Richard Hatzell, and one sister, Beverly Volkert.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at noon at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel with Pastor Randy Thornburg officiating. Friends are invited to call two hours prior to the funeral Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Redkey, Indiana
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Heart to Heart Hospice who took such wonderful care of Wanda. Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
