Preschool registration scheduled
Taking Note
Registration will be held this month for Fort Recovery Preschool for the 2018-2019 school year.
It will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, in the Auditeria at the Fort Recovery Elementary/Middle School.
A copy of the child’s certified birth certificate, immunization recordand Social Security card will need to be brought to the registration, but children don’t need to attend.
More information is available on the preschool site of the Fort Recovery Local School website. Anyone unable to attend should call (419) 375-4131 to make other arrangements.
Senior honored
A Fort Recovery High School student was recently honored at the Franklin B. WalterAll Scholastic Awards banquet.
Ryan Braun, the son of Tom and Lisa Braun, was chosen for his academic excellence and extra-curricular involvement.
He plans to attend Ball State University or Wright State University-Lake Campus and major in engineering and business.
A senior was chosen from each of the six districts in Mercer County and one will represent Mercer County at the annual state awards banquet later this month.
Hospital programs
Adams Memorial Hospital in Decatur will have several programs available this month.

League of the Blind & Disabled will meet from 1:15 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, in the Geneva Room. It will continue to meet the third Tuesday of each month.

Classes available in the Worthman Fitness Center (WFC) at the hospital this month include a cycling class from 4 to 6 p.m. each Monday, 8:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. each Tuesday, 12:15 p.m. each Wednesday, and 8:15 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. each Thursday. Also, a cycling class with core advantage meets at 10 a.m. each Saturday and Zumba is at 7:15 p.m. each Wednesday.
Yoga classes meet in thefirst floor classroom of AMH and participants must bring a yoga mat. Gentle yoga is at 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday and 11:30 a.m. each Friday, regular yoga is at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday, and power yoga is at 8:30 a.m. each Saturday.
Body fit classes meet at 7 p.m. each Monday and body fit with boxing is at 5:15 p.m. each Thursday. The SilverSneakers exercise program is at 9:30 a.m. each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in the AMH first floor classroom.

Swiss Village events
In recognition of National Older Americans Month in May, Swiss Village and Berne Rotary Club will co-sponsor the 28th annual Senior Breakfast.
The free breakfast is for all seniors and will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. on Friday, May 4, at Swiss Village, 1350 W. Main St. in Berne. The menu will include egg casserole, bacon, biscuits, and fresh fruit.
Parking will be availablein the main circle drive entrance or in the north parking lot by the Social Corner.
Collective Goods will hold a Spring Book Fair on Thursday, April 26, at Swiss Village Retirement Community.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the auditorium and purchases will allow Collective Goods to donate books to Kinder Haus Day Care Library.

Non-profit workshop
Indiana Humanities will host a grant workshop for non-profit organizations in May.
The workshop will be held at 9:30 a.m. on May 15 at Jay County Public Library for non-profits seeking funding for public programs in history, preservation, literature and other humanities fields.
It will explain how to write and submit a successful grant proposal and how to tap into other program opportunities and support from Indiana Humanities.
