Lucille Fairchild
Lucille Fairchild, age 82, 113 Maple Lane, Portland, passed away Thursday at her residence.
She was born in Illinois on Nov. 24, 1935, the daughter of George and Helen (Oehlerking) Bleile. She was married June 7, 1953, to William Fairchild, who survives.
She was retired from CTS in Berne and also worked at Bearcreek Farms. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, a 1953 graduate of Ela Vernon High School, a member of Plant, Hoe and Hope Garden Club, receptionist for 30 years of Weight Watchers, Greene Township, Kitchen Kookies Home Ec and Yellow Rockers Square Dance Club. She enjoyed gardening, canning, knitting and crocheting.
Surviving are her husband William; two daughters, Donna Bailey (companion: Mike Butcher) of Portland and Faye Bailey (husband: Bob) of Portland; four grandchildren Greg Geesaman (wife: Brittany), Scott Geesaman (wife: Lori), Jody Huey and Jamie Fairchild (companion: Chad LeMaster); eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Louise App of Obetz, Ohio, and Lorene Parsley of Round Lake, Illionis.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Fairchild, and a daughter, Rita Fairchild.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 28, at 11 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Laura Meier presiding. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Family Life Care or choice of the donor.
