Mary Arnold

June 3, 1934-April 23, 2018

Mary M. Arnold, 83, a former Redkey resident, passed away Monday at Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk. 

Mary was born June 3, 1934, in Portland, the daughter of Aubrey and Mary (Bousman) Jones-Hathaway. She worked for Community Care West in Portland and retired from Center of Hope in Union City, Ohio. She was a member of Fort Recovery United Methodist Church and the Portland Moose Auxiliary. She married Calvin J. Arnold on Nov. 27, 1952, and he passed away in 2005. 

Survivors include:

Five sons — Aaron Arnold, Dunkirk, Indiana, Calvin W. Arnold (wife Cindy) – Richmond, Indiana, John Arnold (wife: Lisa), Union City, Indiana, Joseph Arnold (wife: Cheryl), Richmond, Indiana, and Michael Arnold (wife: Stacey), Greenville, Ohio

Three daughters — Patricia Fritz (husband: Robert), Greenville, Ohio, Mary Hall (husband: Bill), Redkey, Indiana, and Michele Markin (husband: Brian), Piqua, Ohio 

Two sisters — Nancy St. Myers (husband: Ralph), Portland, Indiana, and Debra Mann (husband: Darrel), Bradenton, Florida 

Twenty-two grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin J. Arnold; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Harold Hall; two grandchildren, Melissa Nickles and Bradley Hall; and one brother, James Jones. 

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
