Troy McElfresh, age 52, 604 North Williams St., Portland, passed away Wednesday morning at IU Health Jay.
He was born in Elwood, Indiana, March 17, 1966, the son of Danny McElfresh and Joyce Morris. He was married June 14, 1997, to Angela Ford, who survives.
He had worked for Red Gold as a pest control operator. He graduated from Frankton High School in 1984 and Ball State University in 1989. He was a member of Portland Elks Lodge, attended Asbury United Methodist Church, was an avid Colts and Indiana University basketball fan and enjoyed going to Lake Pleasant.
Survivingare his wife Angela; his mother Joyce Eldridge of Portland; his step-mother Sharon McElfresh of Alexandia ; his father and step-mother-in-law Dave and Carla Ford of Portland; and his aunt Marlene Runyon of Portland.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Greg Rittenhouse presiding. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society or choice of the donor.
