COLUMBUS — The Indian baseball and softball teams will open tournament play at home.
In the OHSAA baseball and softball tournament draws held Sunday, the Fort Recovery High School baseball team earned the No. 2 seed in the Division III Elida District, while the softball team will be seeded fifth in the Division IV Wapakoneta District.
The Indian baseball squad, which is 15-4, will host the sectional final at 5 p.m. May 11 against the winner of No. 12 Ada and No. 13 Fostoria. The Ada-Fostoria game is 5 p.m. May 9.
The bottom half of the bracket as No. 3 seed Ottawa-Glandorf awaiting the winner of No. 6 Liberty-Benton and No. 9 Lakota at 5 p.m. May 11.
The sectional champions advance to the district semifinal at 4 p.m. May 17.
Coldwater is the No. 1 seed in the district, and it will host the winner of No. 10 Paulding and No. 11 Bluffton at 5 p.m. May 11. No. 4 Van Buren hosts No. 8 Elmwood annd No. 5 Upper Sandusky entertains No. 7 Spencerville in the other sectional semifinals, with the highest-seeded team hosting the sectional final at 5 p.m. May 11.
The first district semifinal is 2 p.m. May 17, and the district final is 1 p.m. May 19.
Fort Recovery’s softball team earned the No. 5 seed, and it will host the sectional final against either No. 6 Lima Perry or No. 8 Lima Central Catholic at 5 p.m. May 10.
No. 7 Ridgemont and No. 9 Waynesfield-Goshen square off for the chance to play No. 2 Parkway in the sectional final at 5 p.m. May 10. The district semifinal is 5 p.m. May 16 at Wapakoneta.
The top half of the bracket has No. 1 Minster hosting either No. 4 Marion Local or No. 10 St. Henry at 5 p.m. May 10 in a sectional championship game. The second sectional final has No. 11 Upper Scioto Valley traveling to No. 3 New Bremen. Winners of each sectional advance to the 5 p.m. May 15 district semifinal.
