Richard Taylor

Richard L. Taylor, age 75, a former Madison Township resident, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Baycare Alliant in Dunedin, Florida.

He was a 1961 graduate of Madison Township High School. He was a nurse for the V.A. Northern Indiana Health Care in Marion then moved to Florida and retired from Bay Pines V.A. Healthcare Systems.

Richard was born May 2, 1943, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of Fred and Ruth (Wysong) Taylor. He was married to his beloved wife Annette (Sallee) Taylor, who survived.

Richard is also survived by four children with his first wife Kay Taylor residing in Hartford City, Indiana. These include Nila Burchard (husband: Neil), residing in Louisville, Mississippi, Richard Taylor Jr. (wife: Connie), residing in Muncie, Indiana, Brian Taylor (wife: Shanna), residing in Hartford City, Indiana, and Randy Taylor (wife: Krista) residing in Orlando, Florida; his sister Marlene Smith, Portland, Indiana; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Visitation for Richard Taylor will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery southeast of Portland.
