Bobbie McCowan

Bobbie E. “Sally” Bullard McCowan, age 80, of Redkey, passed away Wednesday Aug. 8, 2018, at her home following an illness.

She was born Jan. 4, 1938, in Wilder, Tennessee, the daughter of Elmer Bullard, Sr. and Inas (Williams) Bullard. She lived in Tennessee until 1958 when she moved to Indiana, where she met Donald G. McCowan. They married on Jan. 10, 1959.

Bobbie and Don lived and raised their family in Redkey, Indiana. She was a homemaker and in early years worked in season at the canning factory in Redkey. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Don McCowan; their daughters Melody DeBoer (husband: Larry), West Lafayette, and Sherrie D. McCowan, Muncie; two brothers, Danny Bullard (wife: Barbara), Portland, and Donnie Bullard (wife: Barbara), Jamestown, Tennessee; a sister, Diann Coby (husband: Larry), Redkey; and two grandchildren, Will DeBoer, Salisbury, Maryland, and Caroline DeBoer, West Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Elmer Bullard Jr., Dewayne Bullard, Billy Bullard and Larry Bullard; and a sister, Sue Philebaum.

Graveside services will be at noon Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Hill Crest Cemetery, Redkey, with burial to follow.
