ARCANUM, Ohio — Jalyn Bruns had the best score of her short career.
It helped the Indians get their first win of the season.
The Tribe boys won, too.
Fort Recovery High School’s boys and girls golf teams both picked up their first victory of the season Friday, beating the Tri-Village Patriots at Beechwood Golf Course.
The FRHS boys had three players in the 40s in their 191-219 win, while the Indian girls defeated the Patriots 230-257.
Bruns, a freshman, made par on the third hole en route to a career-best 50. Sophomore Alli Vaughn was second on the team with 54, and classmate Shelby Stammen was third with 62. Becca Wood, a senior, carded a 64 to complete the Indians’ team total.
Kendra Dues and Trisha Gaerke also competed, but they did not factor into the final score. They shot 69 and 71, respectively.
Grant Knapke paced a strong effort for the Tribe boys with a career-best 42. Derek Lochtefeld and Blayne Tobe finished with 48 and 49 respectively to set career-low totals as well. Carson Rammel shot 52 as the fourth-best score on the day.
