Members of Friends of the Library will be able to get a sneak peek at the Jay County Public Library’s annual used book sale.
The book sale is set for Aug. 23, 24, and 25 to coincide with the Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association’s show.
The members only preview sale is set for 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 22.
Friends who have paid their dues are eligible, and memberships may be paid that night.
Show is set
Members of Stitch and Chatter Quilt Club are busy with preparations for the club’s annual quilt show at Arts Place.
Set for Aug. 23, 24, and 25 to coincide with the annual Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association Show, the event will feature a variety of quilts. Vendors will also have fabrics and handmade items for sale.
The show will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 23 and 24, and from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Aug 25.
Daily admission is $5 per person.
Arts Place is located at 131 E. Walnut St., Portland.

Hosting seminar
Lifestream will host the free seminar “Understanding Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans” at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at Kennedy Library in Muncie.
The event will feature State Health Insurance Assistance Program counselors as well as insurance representatives.

Darke County (Ohio) Singles Group will host a dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Aug. 25 at the VFW Hall, 219 N. Ohio St., Greenville, Ohio.
