WOODBURN — The scoring onslaught from Kendra Muhlenkamp continued Monday.

The Warriors were the latest to fail to slow down the Jay County High School senior.

Muhlenkamp notched a hat trick for the third straight game and classmate Shelby Caldwell earned the first shutout of the season as the Patriot girls soccer team got a 6-0 victory over host Woodlan.

The triumph pushed the Patriots’ winning streak against Allen County Athletic Conference opponents to 12 straight games. The last loss for Jay County (3-1, 2-0 ACAC) was a 7-1 setback to the Leo Lions on Sept. 9, 2014.

Muhlenkamp’s three goals pushed her season scoring total to 11 goals, well on pace to break 2016 graduate Gabbie Mann’s school record for goals in a season (31) and career (63). The forward has found the back of the net 46 times for her three-plus year career.

Karlie Bullard scored twice for the first multi-goal game of her career. Hannah Phillips tallied her fourth goal of the year and Eliza Bader recorded an assist.

Caldwell turned away all six Woodlan shots she faced.

Boys get first win

WOODBURN — Jay County’s boys soccer team got its first win of the season Monday, downing the host Woodlan Warriors 5-1.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Jay County, but wet field conditions forced the game to be moved.

Jay County (1-2, 1-1 Allen County Athletic Conference) led 3-0 at halftime before giving up the shutout in the final 40 minutes.

Derrian Riojas notched two goals to lead the Patriots, who also got tallies from Korbin Auker, Ian McCombs and Daniel Fugiett.

Freshman Christian Merentes was credited with three assists, and Gio Perod helped on another goal.

DELPHOS, Ohio — The Delphos St. John’s Blue Jays topped the Fort Recovery boys golf team Monday, 165-202, at Delphos Country Club.

Zander Kunkler and Noah Lennartz shot 60 and 65 respectively, but their scores did not factor into the total for the squad.

Adam Gerker of St. John’s was match medalist as he finished with a 3-over par 38.

Bruns medals in loss

CELINA, Ohio — Jalyn Bruns posted the best score, but it wasn’t enough as the Fort Recovery girls golf team fell Monday to the St. John’s Blue Jays, 229-241, at Mercer County Elks Golf Club.

Bruns was the only player for the Indians to break 60 as she shot 52. Shelby Stammen carded 62 as the second-best score for the Indians. Kendra Dues and Trisha Gaerke were behind Stammen by one and two strokes respectively.

Alli Vaughn (65) and Devin Jutte (70) also played for the Indians.
