All of the Patriots nearly had the same score.
It wasn’t enough to topple the No. 13 Red Devils.
Jay County High School’s girls golf team lost to the Richmond Red Devils on Thursday, 173-226, at Portland Golf Club.
Eden Basford paced the Patriots by carding a 55. Mackenzie Parks and Abby Huey both shot 57 and Erika Heitkamp completed the team score by firing a 58.
Sierra Caster also competed, but her 59 did not factor into the team score.
Stars get swept
BERNE — The South Adams volleyball team got swept by the Class 3A No. 9 Bellmont Squaws on Thursday, 25-19, 25-14, 25-23.
Shaelynn Bowman led SAHS (8-4) with seven kills and two blocks. Gabriella Bailey was second on the squad with five kills. Carlie Sealscott and Lydia Loshe had three kills each.
Josie Grabau collected 10 assists, and Hannah Dull notched eight digs.
The South Adams junior varsity team also lost, 25-18, 25-14. Savannah Alberson led the way with four kills, while Jade Baker recorded 10 digs.
The C team also lost to Bellmont, 25-16, 25-14. Laryson Ziegler finished with seven kills.
SA beats Raiders
SELMA — Madi Smith and Emilee Myers had two goals each in leading the South Adams girls soccer team past the host Wapahani Raiders, 6-1.
Kristen Wynn and Jayla Connor both had a goal for the Starfires, who move to 2-2 on the year.
Jenna Myers turned away nine shots as South Adams goalkeeper.
