The deadline to apply through The Portland Foundation for the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship is Sept. 4.
The program is open to all members of the high school graduating class of 2019 who are Jay County residents and have at least a 3.5 grade point average. The scholarship provides full tuition to any Indiana college or university.
Applications will be evaluated for academic achievement, financial need, involvement in activities and the quality of a written essay.

The TV show “American Pickers” will be coming to Indiana in October and is looking for leads in the state.
The show features Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz of Antique Archeology traveling the country and looking for valuable antiques. The show’s producers are looking for “interesting characters with interesting items” to potentially be featured on the show.

Screenings
A mobile mammogram organization will offer screenings for breast cancer next month.
On Sept. 13, Francine’s Friends Mobile Mammography will be at South Adams Senior Center, 825 Hendricks St., Berne. Clients are asked to bring a photo ID and an insurance card; funding is available for those without insurance.
