Jay County Public Library is ready for the holidays.
The library will kick off a series of holiday-themed activities with its Kids’ Holiday Open House from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The open house will include hot cocoa with a mug that kids can keep. They will also be able to decorate a cookie and make ornaments.
A series of craft events is scheduled beginning with do-it-yourself gifts from the kitchen and more at 6 p.m. Monday. Attendees will be able to create layered mixes in canning cars to give as holiday gifts.
There will also be tie-dye crafts for children and teenagers at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 12. Attendees can bring T-shirts, socks, hair bands or other items to work with — limit to one large item or a couple small items — and dye, gloves, rubber bands and wash-out instructions will be provided.
The library will hold a “Crafternoon” from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 13 to make holiday ornaments.
And there will be a candy-making night for children and teens at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 19. Supplies will be provided for making fudge, hard candy and other items.
