William Fraley
William H. Fraley, 85, of Dunkirk, Indiana, formerly of Ranger, West Virginia, passed peacefully following an extended illness Sunday morning, Dec. 2, 2018, at the home of his daughter in Dunkirk, Indiana.
He was born on March 12, 1933, in Kistler, West Virginia, to the late William H. and Viola Essie (McCoy) Fraley.
He is survived by former wife Zona Brenner, Dunkirk, Indiana; sons Alan Malcolm (Joy) Fraley Sr., Redkey, Indiana, Mark (Belen) Fraley, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Paul Fraley, Dunkirk, Indiana; daughter Rita (Jim) Floyd; brother Charles Fraley (Arleda) Point Pleasant, West Virginia; sisters Mary (Max) Radar, Marysville, Tennessee, and Pat (Jim) Custer, Silver Spring, Maryland; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and his beloved border collie Queenie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Larry Keith Fraley; brothers Dallas Fraley and Menford Fraley; and sister Dorothy Ooten.
He served in the Army in Alaska during the Korean War and was retired from Kerr Glass Company in Dunkirk.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bluegrass music, and was a member of the American Legion. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Friends are invited to call Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries – Dunkirk Chapel and two hours prior to the funeral services on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, from noon to 2 p.m. at McGhee – Handley Funeral Home in Hamlin, West Virginia. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday with Brother Joey Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Sanders Cemetery, Ranger Ridge, West Virginia.
Local arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Dunkirk Chapel.
