Christopher Bennett

Christopher Bennett, age 66, of Dunkirk, passed away Monday at his residence.

He was born in Portland on Oct. 2, 1952, the son of Charles and Loretta (Barenbrugge) Bennett. He was married in 1972 to Gisele Diefenbaugh and she passed away July 22, 2017.

He was retired as Environmental Safety Technician with Ball State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Moose Lodge and American Legion and graduate of Dunkirk High School. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are a son, Joshua Bennett of Dunkirk; a daughter, Jessica Bennett of Dunkirk; two brothers, Ed Bennett of Dunkirk and Jim Bennett (wife: Sue) of Hartford City; one sister, Elizabeth “Micky” Staton of Fairview; and four grandchildren, Justus Folkerth, Blake Bennett, Payton Folkerth and Brooke Bennett.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor.
