Secret Families event is Saturday
Secret Families Christmas Charity of Jay County will hold its annual event Saturday.
In preparation for the event, during which volunteers deliver Christmas gifts to local families, the organization is looking for donations and volunteers.
Those interested in donating money can do so by mailing checks to Secret Families Christmas Charity, P.O. Box 4, Dunkirk, IN 47336. Volunteers can help shop at Walmart in Portland beginning at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, wrap gifts at Jay County High School at 8:30 a.m. or make deliveries beginning at 10 a.m.

Offering grants
Indiana Humanities is offering four grant options and hosting workshops and a webinar to help those interested in applying.
The following grants will be available:
•Action Grant — Up to $3,000
•Historic Preservation Education Grant — Up to $2,500
•Innovation Grant — Up to $10,000
•Collaboration Grant — Up to $20,000

Get crafty
Jay County Public Library will kick off a series of holiday-themed activities with its Kids’ Holiday Open House from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
The open house will include hot cocoa with a mug that kids can keep. They will also be able to decorate a cookie and make ornaments.
Also, the Friends of the Library meeting for this month is scheduled for 6 p.m. Dec. 18.
