Thanks for supporting blood drive

Letters to the Editor

To the editor:

On behalf of friends and family of the Rachel (Osterholt) Theurer 3rd Annual Blood Drive, the words thank you don’t even begin to describe how much we appreciate the overwhelming participation and support of blood donation to the American Red Cross.

What a special way to honor and remember Rachel on #givingTuesday — Nov. 27, 2018.

The success of this event, with records set, would not be possible without the wonderful donors, volunteers, phlebotomists, Jeri Garringer, WPGW, The Commercial Review and Jay Community Center (JCC).

We are most appreciative to Carol Stephens for coordinating the drive and volunteers, especially those who worked the extended hour until 6 p.m. to allow more time for donations on this special day of giving. What a beautiful tribute to Rachel, so much outpouring of support for her family.

Jeri Garringer, account manager for the American Red Cross, shared the following information about the drive:

The drive exceeded the goal set at 95, with 114 donors who signed in, six first-time donors and 103 units collected. Donations to date given in the three years to honor Rachel (Osterholt) Theurer is 315.

We hope that you will continue to donate in upcoming drives as several regular donors reached gallon milestones.

Again, we can’t thank you enough for your donation as the American Red Cross needs units of blood during the holidays.

Again, we can’t thank you enough for your participation and support in the drive honoring Rachel’s memory. Think of how many lives will be changed forever because of your donation.

With sincere gratitude, thank you from the family of Rachel (Osterholt) Theurer.
