Jerry A. Funk, age 76, of Portland passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, in the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Allen County June 11, 1942, the son of Clark and Emma (Dick) Funk. He was married April 28, 1990, to Phyllis Heis who survives. He served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1969. He was retired from CTS in Berne as a senior foreman and later worked at Red Gold in Geneva. He was a member of American Legion Post #211 and Portland Evening Optimists.
Surviving are his wife Phyllis; one son, Daryl Funk of Mason, Ohio; two daughters Kindra Webster (husband: Chris) of Fishers, Indiana, and Brooke Aker of Portland; two brothers, his twin brother Larry Funk (wife: Helen) of Mesa, Arizona, and Kenny Funk (wife: Irma) of Decatur; two sisters, Norma Myers of Decatur and Eileen Hoffman of Decatur; sister-in-law Bonnie Funk of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 6 p.m. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery.
