ROCKFORD, Ohio — At halftime it looked as though the Indians were about to run away with their second victory of the season.
The Panthers clawed back in the third quarter.
The Indians hung on down the stretch.
Fort Recovery High School’s boys basketball team moved to .500 on Friday as it held off the Parkway Panthers for a 61-58 victory.
The Indians (2-2, 1-1 Midwest Athletic Conference) used a 23-point second quarter to build on its 10-8 advantage after one period to go into halftime leading the Panthers by a score of 33-23.
But Parkway (2-3, 0-1 MAC) returned the favor in the third period by outscoring Fort Recovery 22-13.
Payton Jutte of Fort Recovery led all players with 26 points, including four baskets from beyond the arc.
Grant Knapke joined him in double figures with 15 points, and Derek Jutte tossed in 10 points. Clay Schmitz and Blayne Tobe had 10 and six points respectively.
