Nanette Atkins

Nanette Atkins, age 79, a resident of Pennville, passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at Bluffton Regional Medical Center.

She was retired from CTS in Berne after many years. She was a member of the Crossroads Church in New Castle, Indiana.

Nanette Atkins was born May 20, 1939, in Bowling Green, Ohio, the daughter of Ellis and Catherine (Swanagan) Gee. After the death of her parents, she was raised by Albert and Mary Swanagan and has several brothers and sisters from this extended family.

She was married on Nov. 19, 1983, to Wytte Atkins, and he passed away on Nov. 20, 1988.

Survivors include:

Three sons — Frank McDavid (wife: Barbara), Deerfield, Indiana, Kenny McDavid, New Castle, Indiana, and Randy McDavid, New Castle, Indiana

Two daughters — Debra Wilkin (husband: Robert), Wilmington, Ohio, and Tammy McDavid, Pennville, Indiana

Nineteen grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Spare, in 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home. Pastor Danny Douglas will officiate the services with cremation to follow. Burial will follow at a later date in IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the services at the funeral home.
