Ruth Schwieterman
Ruth Schwieterman age 91 of rural Portland passed away Thursday evening, Dec. 27, 2018 in Miller's Merry Manor in Dunkirk.
Born in Mercer County, Ohio on March 29, 1927 she was the daughter of Aloys and Loretta (Jutte) Braun. She was married July 12, 1947 to Harold G. Schwieterman and he died April 8, 2013.
She was a homemaker and had worked at Jay Garment and Buckeye Apparel in Coldwater. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a member of Portland Moose Lodge and a Fort Recovery High School graduate.
Surviving are four sons Daniel Schwieterman (wife: Shelly) of Pleasant City, Ohio, Steven Schwieterman of Austin, TX., Kenneth Schwieterman (wife: Erin) of Ridgeville and Harold Schwieterman of Indianapolis; three daughters Connie Lingo (husband: Ron) of Portland, Rosann Miller (husband: Chris) of Muncie and Lori Gibson (partner: Deon Walker) of Portland; one brother Paul Braun (wife: Marilyn), Fort Recovery, Ohi; one sister Cleo Sudhoff of Coldwater, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by children Ronnie and Bonnie.
Funeral services will be Saturday Jan. 5, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Moran presiding. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ft. Recovery.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. Memorials can be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland or State of the Heart Hospice.
