Richard Nibarger

Richard L. Nibarger, age 80, a resident of Pennville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was a member and served in the Indiana National Guard. He retired from Delaware Machine and Tool in Muncie after 17 years.

He was born July 27, 1937, in Jay County, the son of George and Pauline (Bye) Nibarger. He was married on June 16, 1973, to Mary Blumenhorst.

Three sons — Richard Nibarger Jr. (wife: Lisa), Niota, Tennessee, Steve Nibarger (wife: Darlene), Athens, Tennessee, and Douglas Nibarger (wife: Laurie), Rothschild, Wisconsin        

Four daughters — Connie Steinen (husband: Steve), LaMirada, California, Carolynn Geesaman (husband: Harley), Pennville, Indiana, Deanna Norris (husband: Jim), Pennville, Indiana, and Beverly Durham (husband: Jacob), Portland, Indiana

Three brothers — George Nibarger (wife: Shirley), Montpelier, Indiana, Thomas Nibarger (wife: Sue), Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Roger Nibarger, Pennville, Indiana

Three sisters — Betty Young, Redkey, Indiana, Virginia Poling, Dunkirk, Indiana, and Sue Grayson (husband: Roger), Marion, Indiana

Fifteeen grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Fred Nibarger.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home in Pennville with Pastor Dan Sickels officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.
