Fined and sentenced

Alfredo Marin, 44, 1113 S. Detroit Ave., Portland, pleaded guilty to domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor — Sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 212 days suspended and given 212 days credit for 106 days served. Fined $100, assessed court costs of $185, ordered to pay a domestic violence prevention and treatment fee of $100 and placed on formal probation for five months. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of strangulation was dismissed. 

Jody R. Webster, 37, 728 W. Race St., pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor — Sentenced to six months in Jay County Jail with all but 60 days suspended and given 60 days credit for 30 days served. Assessed court costs of $185 and ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and a substance abuse program fee of $400. Placed on formal probation for six months consecutive to probation imposed for an earlier charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Level 6 felony. 

Also found in violation of her probation for the charge of theft, a Class A misdemeanor. Sentenced to serve an additional 90 days of the one year sentence originally imposed, consecutive to the possession of marijuana charge, and given 50 days credit for 25 days served. 

Heather Franklin, 34, 1213 Memorial Drive, Muncie, pleaded guilty to theft, a Class A misdemeanor — Sentenced to 88 days in Jay County Jail and given 52 days credit for 26 days served. Fined $1 and assessed court costs of $185.

Lucas W. Franks, 43, 134 E. Palace St., Dunkirk, pleaded guilty disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor — Sentenced to Jay County Jail for 90 days and given two days credit for one day served. The remaining time will be served on electronically monitored home detention. Assessed court costs of $185. 

Also pleaded guilty to driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. Sentenced to 90 days in Jay County Jail to be served consecutive to the disorderly conduct charge, and given two days credit for one day served. The remainder will be served on electronically monitored home detention. Assessed court costs of $185.50. 

Decorion M. Eskridge, 18, 528 Hale St., Bluffton, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana or hashish, a Class B misdemeanor — Granted a conditional discharge for one year. If the terms of the conditional discharge are fulfilled in that time, the charge will be dismissed.
