Eric Mock
Dec. 17. 1966-Jan. 6, 2018
Eric Mock, 51, passed away on Jan. 6 at Ball Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 17, 1966, in Muncie, grew up in Dunkirk and lived in St. Charles, Illinois, and Jay County for most of his life. His late parents were Felma Mock and Jack Mock, and his late sister was Cindy King.
Eric graduated from Jay County High School in 1985 with honors, and studied engineering at Purdue University where he ran the campus heavy metal radio station, and outlawed disco. He started his own business, Alliance Productions, which raised funds for children in need, and even coined the phrase “Shop with A Cop.” A lifelong sports fan, Eric loved the Philadelphia Phillies (for which he ran a popular fan site) and Boilermaker basketball. He was an avid online gamer, reaching the top ranks of Euchre and winning multiple Strat-o-Matic World Series. Eric always knew how to make people laugh. He always had hope, a smile or a silly joke to brighten everyone’s days.
He was survived by his wife of 15 years, Wendy; his two sons, Andrew and Alex (wife: Liz) Mallard; niece Katie King; great-niece Quinn Bell; and his beloved kitty, Boo-Boo.
Memorial services with be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. in Union Chapel Church, 6238 N. 375 W., Bryant. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are by Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
