Joan R. Huber, 81, St. Sebastian, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
She was born July 17, 1936, at the Schwieterman Home in St. Sebastian, Ohio, to the late Leander and Agnes (Evers) Schwieterman. On Nov. 7, 1956, she married Gerald “Smokey” Huber and he died Dec. 5, 2002.
She is survived by her children, Ann and Mike Evers of St. Henry, Ohio, Jane and Tim Miller of Portland, Jerry and Renee Huber of Tipp City, Ohio, Jay and Joyce Huber of Maria Stein, Ohio, Jennifer and Ted Ripploh of Minster, Ohio, and Amy and Steve Schmitz of Fort Recovery; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; and in-laws Myrt Huber of McCartyville, Ohio, and Dennis Stachler of Burkettsville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by in-laws Sr. Cecelia Huber, Don Huber, Phyllis Stachler, Velma and Paul Billerman, AliceTheiman , and Myron and Norma Huber.
She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. She belonged to a card club for 50 years, loved listening to WCSM on the radio and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors gardening and farming and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She formerly worked at several area restaurants.
Private family services will be held.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or the Gardens Activity Fund. Any gifts should be sent directly to a family member.
