Students of Month named at West Jay

West Jay Middle School named its Students of the Month for January.

In sixth grade was Samantha Sager — parents Charles and Kristen Sager.

In seventh grade was Jaidi Brunson — parents Shelli and Mark Leavell and Aaron Brunson. 

In eighth grade was Isabel Rodgers —  parents Derek and Holly Rodgers and Nina Dunnuck. 



Screenings

Blood pressure checks and blood sugar screenings will be done in February in Fort Recovery.

They will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Feb. 28 at Fort Recovery Catholic Church. Blood pressure checks are free and blood sugar screenings will cost $2.

Grief support

Family LifeCare in Berne will begin the group “Understanding Grief” in March for those 18 and older.

The group will give an overview of the grief journey, explain how we heal and offer practical suggestions for grief healing. 

The group will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on March 15, 22 and 29 and April 5 at the office at 108 S. Jefferson St.

Health Fair

Mercer Health will host the Mercer Healthy Living Expo in March in Celina, Ohio,  from 8 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, at the Galleria in Celina.

Admission is free and more than 30 local organizations will offer free health screenings, discounted lab tests, a blood drive and a prescription drug take back.
