Carl Imel

Carl Imel Sr, age 88, a resident of Portland, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.
Carl was born Feb, 21, 1930, in Jay County, the son of Russel Guy and Beatrice Marie (Harness) Imel. Carl worked at Portland Forge for 41 years and retired in 1992. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.
Carl married Donna (Brunner) Imel on April 22, 1950.
Survivors include:
His wife of 67 years — Donna Imel – Portland, Indiana
Two sons — Carl Imel Jr. (wife: Ruby), Pennville, Indiana, and William Imel (wife: Lisa), Portland, Indiana
Three daughters — Rosemary Armantrout (husband: William), Portland, Indiana, Donna Marie Imel, Portland, Indiana, and Betty Imel, Portland, Indiana
Twelve grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow visitation at 6 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Larry Eads officiating the service.
Burial will be at a later date at Antioch Cemetery South East of Portland.
Memorials may be directed to Jay County Cancer Society.
