Scott Schwieterman had a career night against one of the best teams in the country.
Schwieterman, a 2013 Jay County High School graduate, returned from holiday break Friday by scoring a career-high 21 points for the Indiana Tech men’s basketball team in an 88-84 win over NAIA Division II No. 4 Indiana Wesleyan.
The senior forward was 8-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-3 from long range, and made all three of his free throws to pass his old career high by one. He also had a steal and a rebound for the Warriors.
Schwieterman scored six points, grabbed three rebounds and had one block Saturday in a 71-66 loss to Saginaw Valley State University, which snapped Indiana Tech’s six-game winning streak.
The former Patriot was 4-of-8 from the field and 2-for-2 from the foul line on Wednesday as the sixth-ranked Warriors (15-3, 7-1 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference) beat Lawrence Tech 71-61.

He made a trio of 3-pointers on his way to 11 points Dec. 28 in a 113-78 home win over Goshen College. He also had three rebounds, three assistsand two steals.
Kahlig totaled five points, four assists, three rebounds and a steal in an 83-55 win Friday against Davis & Elkins, and scored two points, grabbed a board, dished one assist and had a steal as the NCAA Division II Oilers (15-2, 9-0 Great Midwest Athletic Conference) beat Ohio Dominican 73-66.

Recorded two more starts for the Brescia University women’s basketball team in a pair of losses recently.
She was third on the team with five rebounds and added two assists and a steal in an 84-39 loss Saturday to Shawnee State.
Dunn was 3-for-11 from the field with a 3-pointer and made three free throws to finish with 10 points as the Bearcats (5-10, 2-2 River States Conference) lost to University of the Cumberlands, 62-47.

Contributed to yet another win for the University of Rio Grande women’s basketball team Saturday in an 84-76 win over Pikeville.
The sophomore was 1-of-7 from the field and missed her only 3-point attempt as she finished with two points. She also had two rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals for the NAIA Division II No. 4 Red Storm (15-1, 4-0 River States Conference), who have won 13 straight games.

The freshman made three of her five shots from the field to finish with six points on Saturday in a 67-52 win over Madonna. She also had three rebounds and a pair of steals.
Will made her only shot attempt, a 3-pointer, on Wednesday as the Cougars (11-6, 3-2 Crossroads League) beat Goshen 60-55. She also grabbed a rebound and had one steal.
